hi all does anyone have experience of running local radio adverts and/ or street side billboards and / or side of bus adverts , to attract new clients – do they work at all ? steve
@steve-carter great feedback from my practice. They think it was a worthwhile campaign that definitely drove visits to their website and client registrations. Some tips:
Need a clear follow up/call to action – digital easier to remember than phone numbers so your website must be in good working order with a clear link for pet owners to register…[Read more]

Our Fuji CR X-ray processor is coming to the end of its life (20 years +!)
can anyone recommend a current CR system that is good quality and reliable ?
any recommendation gratefully received!
Hi Steve, I’ll email you now about a deal we have with a company.
thanks debi
anyone else have any info?
We have DR at the hospital now and I honestly could not recommend it more highly over CR. The time saving is enormous. the price of DR has really come down in the last few years. Time is scarce these days and I think DR is well worth the investment.
thanks martin can I ask what system you have and is it reliable and easy to use ? steve
can send you more details next week but it is from A. Somerville’s.
It has been totally reliable for the last 3 years. The only thing we have had issues with is running out of storage space on the PC they supplied because it is so easy to take multiple images.
it is also compatible with a piece of AI software we have just been trialling for them…[Read more]

I need colleagues – vets and especially nurses please – to guide me on purchasing some new drip pumps. the ones we have been using – Niki V4 Infusion Pumps – came with an animalcare fluids deal, and have been good and are simple , but they cannot be repaired any longer except at twice the price they were bought at!! We have a N-HAWK-100VET…[Read more]
my last drip pump came via burtons for purchasing 500 giving sets. It seems quite good and was a good offer if they are still running it?
I’ve contacted a few people Steve, I’ll post their feedback on here when I receive it.

my task over easter day was to create this contingency plan for when we run out of PPE as we are likely to donate all ours to the local hospital very soon. if others have not done this then it may be of use. some of it is specific to our current way of working . i cannot seem to upload it here so i will send it to debi and hopefully she can have…[Read more]

i am in the vet dynamics index and those figures certainly suggest it . in any case lower than optimal is not high enough!

a thought that i had a long time ago – in about 1721 – when vaccination numbers were also falling: – if we could get the vaccine companies to club together [ in proportion to their market share] and finance a NATIONAL TV/radio/other media advertising campaign explaining the benefits of canine and feline vaccination [ like children !!] , i…[Read more]

They are not exactly our standard t&cβs , but we get clients to sign a declaration that (amongst other things) they understand that they are liable for the outstanding fees if the ins co wonβt pay them and that we are charging them Β£25 admin fee. As with most protocols I have doubts that staff get this done every time as clients are not alwa…[Read more]
