Two exciting new products being launched by Zoetis in the early new year: Simparica trio (that seems to be public knowledge) but also a new kennel cough vaccine given via the mucosal surface of the gums. The new Simparica has a moxidectin for roundworm and includes lungworm prevention licence.

a thought that i had a long time ago – in about 1721 – when vaccination numbers were also falling: – if we could get the vaccine companies to club together [ in proportion to their market share] and finance a NATIONAL TV/radio/other media advertising campaign explaining the benefits of canine and feline vaccination [ like children !!] , i…[Read more]
i am in the vet dynamics index and those figures certainly suggest it . in any case lower than optimal is not high enough!

Does anyone ask clients to sign payment T&Cs when registering with the practice or when you agree to do pay vet direct insurance claims? I have a practice who would appreciate some guidance with this. Many thanks Sarah
They are not exactly our standard t&c’s , but we get clients to sign a declaration that (amongst other things) they understand that they are liable for the outstanding fees if the ins co won’t pay them and that we are charging them £25 admin fee. As with most protocols I have doubts that staff get this done every time as clients are not alwa…[Read more]

I am interested in adopting the vetstoria online appointment system in our animana PMS. Their reviews appear to say that its a good system. We are being quoted certain prices for this service and i wonder if anyone can comment on them as they appear quite costly , when the benefit to the practice in financial terms is uncertain:
set up fee…[Read more]

If you are a platinum member or any other practice using loxicom I strongly suggest that you order 2-3 months stock of the injectable version ASAP.
Henry Schein are now out of stock.
Tried to order on the same day as received this information and NVS had no stock

It’s been great to see the flow of sales of our new pet health plans since we launched last week! Even more encouragingly we are seeing early evidence that the promotion of health plans is also driving insurance sales – with some customers taking out both and benefiting from discounts to their insurance (alongside 5 weeks free!!!)
If you’d like t…[Read more]

Over the coming weeks we will be exploring differing business models for independent practices and how to support succession planning involving staff members – be they vets, nurses, receptionists or practice managers. Amazing day yesterday. Group heard some very compelling arguments for NOT selling your practice right now. And some great structuring ideas for driving succession from within. Even heard about employee ownership models that have started to appear in the vet world (John Lewis type models). We will be gathering ideas to present back to you ASAP!!!!
That is so refreshing to hear,
I’m looking forward to hearing about it.
Thanks @terry-girling-2. We are aiming to put some presentations on the hub and having a meeting at LVS in the first instance. Talk soon.
