  • Just in case you have not seen the latest advice from govt on Covid business support: https://www.businesssupport.gov.uk

  • The BVA are currently looking into the practicalities of furloughing staff ‘in’ and ‘out’. We are also investigating with employment specialists. As soon as we have guidance on this, we will share with members. Thanks for raising @benmonumentvets-co-uk. If anybody finds an answer sooner please share.

I’ve just seen a Facebook post from the practice I have my dog registered with. They are fortunate to have a relatively large car park with additional on road parking outside so have built a wooden gazebo in the car park for routine / straightforward dog consults. Appreciate not everyone will have the space but thought the idea was worth sharing.…[Read more]

  • We had a very busy day at Bristol Vet School last Friday! I’d like to say a huge thank you to Julian, Imogen, Lorna and Jemima from Langport and Street Vets, Scott Vets and Axe Valley Vets who came to help me on the day, the extra bodies were well needed, we didn’t stop all day! We have contact details for over 60 final year students who are all…[Read more]

  • Who routinely does follow up phone calls post op to clients to check how the patient is? Interesting post on FB from my dog walker – this one simple gesture from the practice led to her writing a glowing report about them. I wonder how many of her dog walking clients will switch vets due to this post! The small things do matter 😄

    ‘In 20 years I h…[Read more]

  • Conclusions on the steering committee re: telemedicine services. The group should not engage with providers who are offering online consults directly – e.g. Pawsquad, FirstVet etc – as these are deemed to be competition. But Vetsure should investigate (on behalf of members) providers of services that allow our members to undertake their own online…[Read more]

  • It was great to hook up with the Vetsure steering committee prior to LVS last week – thanks to @martin-paterson, @paul-walden, @simon-tai-2, @julie-hutton, @benmonumentvets-co-uk and @steve-carter. Some great discussions on the group’s approach to telemedicine and direct to consumer delivery services – more to follow….

  • Hi everyone, I had a very interesting conversation with a practice yesterday. They have had to close their books for new clients as they’re overwhelmed with work (They are an amazing practice with consistent 5* reviews!) Another Vets in the same town was taken over by CVS & this resulted in new registrations being approximately 150 per week. The…[Read more]

    • Out of interest, apart from being amazing, did the practice push on social media etc that they were independent or up their advertising after CVS Buyout to get disenfranchised clients to move?

      • Hi Ben, they have a very good presence on social media & have also only been opened for just over 2 years. They’ve built a very solid reputation so far.
