Conclusions on the steering committee re: telemedicine services. The group should not engage with providers who are offering online consults directly – e.g. Pawsquad, FirstVet etc – as these are deemed to be competition. But Vetsure should investigate (on behalf of members) providers of services that allow our members to undertake their own online chats/ video consults etc – e.g VetHelpDirect, Gulla etc. If the RCVS starts to allow online prescription we need to prepared to compete – even if we’d prefer that the RCVS puts a stop to this possibility.
