Does anyone have any strong practice management system recommendations? We are with Robovet but seems very expensive with poor service (let alone having to buy a new server next although this is allegedly Microsoft’s fault)… Wanting to have a look at LVS but don’t fancy going to see all of them! 🤯
Hi Ben we conducted some research at the beginning of last year asking practices for feedback on their PMS, it’s a little out of date but might be useful. Go right to the bottom of the article, give us your email address and you’ll be able to access the questionnaire responses htt…[Read more]
Thanks for this Sarah.
Hi Ben. We are investigating vet it at the moment. Might be worth a conversation if you want me to put you in contact
Just had a demo of the Teleos system and found it very good. Tried to book a demo three times with Vet It and sadly no response.
Thanks Morna, good to know. Sarah
We looked at Robovet when migrating from Ventana. Very expensive and complicated. Decided to go to Assissi after quite a lot of research on 1st august 2017. Very pleased. Excellent support. And good value.
Thanks ever so much Jonno, really useful feedback.

Hi everyone, I had a very interesting conversation with a practice yesterday. They have had to close their books for new clients as they’re overwhelmed with work (They are an amazing practice with consistent 5* reviews!) Another Vets in the same town was taken over by CVS & this resulted in new registrations being approximately 150 per week. The…[Read more]
Out of interest, apart from being amazing, did the practice push on social media etc that they were independent or up their advertising after CVS Buyout to get disenfranchised clients to move?
Hi Ben, they have a very good presence on social media & have also only been opened for just over 2 years. They’ve built a very solid reputation so far.

I’d like to extend a warm welcome to new Vetsure member Summer Lane Vets in Weston-Super-Mare. I couldn’t help but be impressed by their fantastic firework display put together by their receptionist who used to dress London shop windows! I’ll try and upload a photo…

This is our health template for breeders and litters. It auto fills vets details but puppy details have to be entered manually.

Are you an OV for PETS Travel Scheme or have a colleague at your practice who is? Yes… Please make sure you read this post!
Useful information shared by a member of our Vetsure Select Group. A client brought their dog for a rabies vaccine prior to travelling abroad and happened to mention, ‘it’s a shame I have to travel 3 hours to see the vet…[Read more]

Hi All, Can anyone recommend a peripatetic orthopaedic surgeon that may cover Worcestershire?
Hi Ian, not had personal experience of using them – a long time since I was in practice, but I know a number of practices around the Bristol/Somerset area who use Rata Veterinary Surgery https://vet.ratavetsurgery.co.uk/about-rata might be worth a call. @anna-currell how far does Hannes travel?
Thanks Sarah, I shall have a look.
Hi Ian
Depending on your case, Rod Stroud of Clent Hills Vets, Bromsgrove undertakes orthopaedic work. Not sure if he would travel but they are relatively local to you. I will see if I can find anyone else for you.
Thanks Gemma, the idea is not to refer to another Practice, especially Corporates! Regards Ian
I met a practice in Redditch who use the same person as you. They are also looking for a replacement, I have asked them to let me know when they find one so I can pass it onto you.
Thanks Gemma. Do you have contact details for Xact HR?
Hannes is working at whiteley village on Friday this week. Rachel is going to ask him how far he travels. If there are 2 practices in the same area – might make it more viable for him. I should have an update early next week.
Hi Ian, I have sent you an email with all the information. Any questions please give me a call.
We have managed for a long time without, recently took someone on who is retiring.

Does Vetsure have a preferred debt collection service?
Hi Peter,
DSL Debt Solve are our current preferred debt collection service (https://www.dsluk.net/).
They can be contacted directly via the website, or I can pass your details on and ask that they contact you if you would prefer?
Many thanks,

a thought that i had a long time ago – in about 1721 – when vaccination numbers were also falling: – if we could get the vaccine companies to club together [ in proportion to their market share] and finance a NATIONAL TV/radio/other media advertising campaign explaining the benefits of canine and feline vaccination [ like children !!] , i…[Read more]
i am in the vet dynamics index and those figures certainly suggest it . in any case lower than optimal is not high enough!

Does anyone ask clients to sign payment T&Cs when registering with the practice or when you agree to do pay vet direct insurance claims? I have a practice who would appreciate some guidance with this. Many thanks Sarah
They are not exactly our standard t&c’s , but we get clients to sign a declaration that (amongst other things) they understand that they are liable for the outstanding fees if the ins co won’t pay them and that we are charging them £25 admin fee. As with most protocols I have doubts that staff get this done every time as clients are not alwa…[Read more]

Just joined Platinum and in process of switching vaccines from MSD to Zoetis. Has anyone had any luck keeping hold of MSDs vaccine fridges? Have a sneaking suspicion they will want them back! I’m trying hard to find the contracts! Any other tips welcome.
Thanks Doug and Keith, we had three delivered last year to add to three older ones. New contracts for the most recent 3 definitely mean they are to be returned. I’m hunting for the older contracts. The chillers from PLH are so expensive I just can’t see the advantage over a domestic fridge with a data logger for temperature, but am open to suggestions.
Hi Ben
If we all got together to make a group purchase of pharmacy grade fridges direct from a supplier like LEC we might get a good deal that made upgrading domestic fridges I have floate this idea at vetsure before but I don’t think it was really considered by the group
