Hi, one of my lovely mobile vets was wondering if anyone knows someone who could assist with a Van conversion? Please do let me know if you can assist, thank you.

Hi all, I wonder if anyone is able to assist one of my lovely practices relating to items requiring COSHH. It seems to be quite confusing which items are ‘hazardous’ & need a COSHH, none of the items come with the relevant info. Does anyone know of a list for Veterinary practices as all of you use the same or similar products. If any of you can…[Read more]

How do you all handle charging breeders for pre-mating progesterone? I know some are sending sample off themselves – so consult fee and blood sample fee? how about revisits for subsequent samples? reduced fee with RVN. Are some doing in house (i know Idexx do progesterone)? Or are some sending to external labs? Just a bit concerned that it gets…[Read more]
Hi Ben
Had this from Sue Bello at Essex Vets – hope it helps!
Essex Vets have our own 360 machine in house so we have results in 20 mins, we charge £30 per test in total, we then build up a relationship with the owner and make a scan and c section plan if the breed required it
We progesterone test in house with AI360 and samples can be ran though IDEXX Catalyst too but it is much more costly through the Catalyst. For non veterinary ‘canine fertility clinics’ prices are around £30 per test with no consult fee. Our tests are £50 per test, no consult fee and that cost remains the same whether they need 1 or 10 tests.
Thanks all, loving the vesture community!

It all starts to get a bit ‘grey’ in areas like this Ben. Essentially, anything with a predictable need with a limited value can be included in an assurance scheme but as soon as the value becomes limitless you […]

Thanks for this Ashley, interesting insight regarding the “red tape” of a subscription model. Would this also apply if just covering in house services only (so unlimited consultations for example) rather than […]

my task over easter day was to create this contingency plan for when we run out of PPE as we are likely to donate all ours to the local hospital very soon. if others have not done this then it may be of use. some of it is specific to our current way of working . i cannot seem to upload it here so i will send it to debi and hopefully she can have…[Read more]

Morning all – whilst vaccinations are (currently) off radar, vaccination reminders are still critical – not just now, but for managing a controlled return of footfall – take a look at my post at: https://hub.vetsure.com/2020/04/06/the-importance-of-vaccination-reminders-even-though-we-cant-currently-fulfill-them/

Some fantastic news! The Government has introduced landmark new legislation to tackle the low-welfare, high volume supply of puppies and kittens, by banning their commercial third-party sale in England
