Equine Grass Sickness Biobank Project: Moredun Research Institute and Partners
To our Equine Members: Please could this be circulated within your practice, and shared as necessary.
Despite us knowing about this devastating equine disease for over 100 years, the causal agents are still not known. This is partly due to a lack of suitable samples from EGS cases and controls. Moredun, with many research and industry partners, are developing a national EGS biobank of biological and environmental samples, which will be available to researchers with relevant projects. They are running a campaign to invite all veterinary practices, referral centres and hospitals that deal with EGS cases to help them by collecting samples from cases (and controls if appropriate) for the biobank….
