With the recent publication of the CMA investigation working papers and external research, there’s now some valuable data shedding light on the veterinary sector. A few key findings stood out:

– Pet owners were less likely to be satisfied with the information and advice they received on their most recent visit to a Large Vet Group practice (77% satisfied) compared to an independent practice (88% satisfied).

– Pet owners were more likely to disagree that their vet considers their personal circumstances when deciding which treatment option to offer them if they used a Large Vet Group practice (24% disagreed) compared to an independent practice (14% disagreed).

– Pet owners were less likely to agree that they could challenge their vet’s advice if they used a Large Vet Group practice (66% agreed) compared to an independent practice (74% agreed).

– Pet owners were less likely to agree that they had a strong ongoing relationship with their individual vet if they used a Large Vet Group practice (30% agreed) compared to an independent practice (43% agreed).
